Bone Marrow Donor Institute
A grant of $11,000 to replacement the Fire Alarm System for the residential units in the (Bone Marrow Donor Institute) Rotary House - Melbourne.
A grant of $15,500 for painting of the six apartments at the BDMI – Melbourne.
The BDMI provides special needs accommodation for children recovering from treatment requiring bone marrow transplants and for their families. The existing fire alarm system was malfunctioning causing disruption to the accommodation and frequent false alarms with the unnecessary evacuations to very sick residents. In addition the apartments required repainting and other refurbishments.
