    Antartica – Allan Davey via ZOOM

    Topic: Antarctica: a reflection through the rearview mirror. Our speaker will be Allan Davey Director at Davey Innovation; an organisation specializing in the provision of executive management and advisory services to industry, academia/research organisations and government agencies in government relations, business planning, bid preparation, project management and evaluation, and technical writing. Managing change and creating impact through innovation. Allan Davey spent 16 months at Davis Station in Antarctica as a biologist with the Australian Antarctic Division prior to completing a PhD in agricultural science at the University of Melbourne. He then embarked on a career in research program management firstly within the wool industry and then in the Victorian government's Office of Science and Technology. Over the last decade, Allan has provided technical writing and advisory services principally across the higher education and research sector. Allan currently chairs a community mental health organisation and has been volunteering at the Australian Open for the last 13 years. Allan, his wife Paula and three children live in East Kew and all the family help run the Sailability program at the Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron which enables people with a disability to enjoy the experience of sailing.
