    16-JUL Nikki Palun is the owner and winemaker of Susuro & Octtava Wines. She has over 20 years experience in all aspects of the wine industry, including winemaking, viticulture marketing, sales, production and international trade. Based out of her urban winery and cellar door in Port Melbourne, Nikki specialises in making small batch experimental wines from Italian varieties as well as crafting elegant premium wines from the Mornington Peninsula, Yarra Valley and Heathcote. Nikki is also known for her work in board governance, industry advocacy, and policy representation, and serves on a number of state and federal industry boards and committees, including her role as Vice Chair of Australian Grape and Wine and the Chair of the Small Winemakers Committee, tackling a wide range of industry issues. Fluent in Mandarin, Nikki has extensive experience in cross cultural negotiation and international trade, especially in the China market. Nikki holds degrees in Winemaking & Viticulture, Arts & Commerce and was awarded a scholarship at Nanjing Normal University for advanced Mandarin studies. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys playing and writing music and is passionate about health and wellbeing and sustainability as well as extreme sports such as flying planes and cave diving.
