Greg Whelan graduated in Medicine at University of Sydney and has trained in clinical medicine, gastroenterology, epidemiology, liver disease and addiction. Greg has held many senior medical positions, including Professor of Addiction Medicine, University of Melbourne at St Vincent’s Hospital.

Alcohol and drug use usually starts as a social activity. Risks of developing addiction are inherited and environmental. Treatment involves medications, psychological programs and support.
