Balwyn Rotary DIK Visit (14 May 2026)
May 14, 2026 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Date: Monday, 14 May 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Location: DIK Warehouse, West Footscray
Join fellow Balwyn Rotarians on Thursday 14 May for a day of hands-on volunteering at the DIK (Donations in Kind) warehouse in West Footscray. DIK is a Rotary-supported organisation that prepares donated goods — clothing, stationery, books, household items and more — for distribution to disadvantaged communities in Australia and overseas.
Arrive between 9:00am and 9:30am. Tasks on the day include DE packaging, sorting clothing, packing stationery backpacks, decanting plastics, and unpacking books. We'll wrap up at around 2:30pm with an estimated return of 3:30pm.
Please note: fully enclosed shoes are mandatory (no heels, sandals, thongs or slip-ons). Safety vests are provided by DIK and must be worn at all times, including in the lunch room. Dress in layers as the warehouse can be cool. Bring a plate to share for lunch (only a 7-Eleven nearby). Please sign the visitors' book on arrival — numbers can be confirmed on the day.
Car pooling is encouraged; a minibus may be arranged depending on numbers. For enquiries contact Julie Mulhauser at juliemulhauser@gmail.com or DIK liaison Colleen d'Offay at manager@rotarydik.org / 0418 551 551.
