Ringwood is a key location for Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) training in Victoria, with new MICA interns regularly stationed there to begin their on- road training.

As of early 2026, Ringwood continues to be part of the expansion of Ambulance Victoria's MICA Bridging Program to strengthen emergency training. In 2025 Balwyn Rotary donated $17,500 to assist with funding manikins for training purposes in conjunction with a donation from Rotary North Balwyn. This enabled the replacement of outdated equipment.

We are delighted to welcome MICA (Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance) paramedics from Ambulance Victoria to our meeting on Tuesday 12 May. Ben Reardon (MICA 8 Team Manager) and his team will speak about their work on the frontlines of emergency medicine and provide a live demonstration of advanced pre-hospital care techniques.

This special evening has been arranged in collaboration with Maurie Waters from the North Balwyn Rotary Club. It is a rare opportunity to see specialist paramedic skills up close and to hear first-hand from some of Victoria's finest emergency responders.
