PREPARE

  • Check local council guidelines

  • Remove grass and weeds at least 3 months before planting
  • Mulch

DESIGN

  • Design with safety, functionality, and ease of maintenance in mind
  • Ensure plant selections comply with council guidelines including height and placement restrictions
  • Choose plants that are resilient to exposure and radiant heat
  • Provide regular watering for all new plants during their first six months of establishment

CARE

  • Plant densely (4 - 6 plants/m2)
  • Low but not no maintenance
  • Connect with neighbours, Landcare and Friends groups
  • Share your story to inspire others
